MONTAGUE COUNTY Announces New Communication Options for Residents
Montague, Texas 3/26/2012
The County of Montague is now providing local residents a way to receive
critical and important information about their community. In addition to
emergency notifications, residents are invited to sign up to receive local
information that impacts their lives and their communities, and receive it in
the way they choose, by text or email, and, during emergencies, by telephone, as
desired.
This new system allows local agencies to offer a variety of information to
the people who live and work in their area and who want to be informed of
critical emergency information as well as other key information about their
community. This is a free service provided by Montague County. This is part of a
larger, regional effort made up of several counties around the area.
It is easy to register. Residents simply go to www.co.montague.tx.us which
leads to the Cross Timbers Resident Notices Registry, where each
person can set up preferences on which areas they want information from,
depending on where they live and work, and what types of available information
they wish to receive. The registry information is managed by the i-INFO system,
a highly-secure system that is used by thousands of organizations to manage
their information and keep it safe. Likewise, i-INFO allows each resident to
securely access and manages their own information.
“We are pleased to be able to provide this new tool to our community
members,” said Montague County Judge Tommie Sappington. “It is a cost effective
way to meet the changing needs of our citizens while providing them with
information they need, when they need it.”
